Lucy Godwin’s Skulls
& Skeletons:ALIVE! is a vibrant and fun look at the Afterlife,
combining influences from New York street art and hip hop culture, Dia de
los Muertos, and the Old Master himself, Leo da V.
Lucy’s style has been described as “Pollock meets Basquiat”. Lucy
travels to New York and Mexico annually for inspiration. Manhattan’s YESsit Gallery owner Vane Bressar comments,
“Lucy Godwin is on the ascent. She’s in touch with a raw undercurrent. The
themes are universal, her gestures bold, her use of colour original. Some of
her new paintings are reminiscent of Basquiat.”
